The Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance, in coordination with the local government of Baguio City, the Philippines’ Department of Health (Philippines), and the World Health Organization (WHO) successfully kicked off the first day of the 8th Asia Pacific Smoke-Free Meeting with the theme, “Rising amidst the challenges: Strengthening and sustaining smoke-free implementation and enforcement.
The event, attended by more than 150 officials and delegates from Southeast Asia officially started yesterday, 27 October at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City.
Delegates from Southeast Asia shared experiences and insights on smoke-free implementation, as well as key challenges that they have experienced in pursuing their respective paths towards promoting smoke-free environments.
The first day of the workshop also paved the way for the launch of the Global Alliance for Smoke-Free Tourism and the introduction of the ASEAN Smoke-Free Award by the ASEAN.
